Raul Rosas Jr. was supposed to fight last weekend at UFC Mexico against Ricky Turcious in the main event. The Mexican fighter was all set to appear in his fourth UFC appearance; however, as it turned out, that wasn’t the case.
The 19-year-old UFC fighter had to withdraw from the fight after falling sick minutes before the event. Rosas’ father took to social media to share an update about his son. At the time, UFC broadcast announced that Raul Rosas Jr. would face Ricky Turcios in a catchweight bout at UFC Vegas 87 this week.

UFC President Dana White also came forward and confirmed the same during the UFC Mexico post-fight press conference and on his Instagram channel. The UFC head honcho stated that the fight will happen on the UFC Vegas 86 card and doesn’t have to make weight, considering both fighters stepped on the scale and made weight ahead of UFC Mexico.
Raul Rosas Jr. will not fight at UFC Vegas 87
According to recent developments, Raul Rosas Jr. won’t be fighting at UFC Vegas 87. The fight against Ricky Turcious is off, and the UFC is yet to come to book the match-up for a later date.
Earlier, upon UFC’s announcement, Ricky Turcios had taken to social media to reveal that he had not signed a contract to fight Rosas Jr. at UFC Vegas 87. Turcios is 12-3 in his professional MMA career and 2-1 in his UFC journey, with his last fight coming against Kevin Natividad more than a year ago at UFC Fight Night: Nzechukwu vs Cutelaba in November 2022. He won the fight via split decision.
