SUMMARY
- Stephen Curry has now made more than 3600 three pointers.
- James Harden and Damian Lillard are also in the top 5 three point leaders list.
Steph Curry continues to cement his NBA legacy as the greatest three-pointer shooter in the history of the NBA. As almost all NBA fans should be aware, Steph is the face of the Golden State Warriors and can also be considered a face of the NBA itself. Over the past decade, Curry has impressed the basketball world with his incredible three-point shooting ability.
Some fans might remember that Steph surpassed Ray Allen, who led the list of 3-point scoring leaders having 2973 made three-pointers. Steph is now well ahead of Allen and recently reached and surpassed the 3600 mark in a game against the Brooklyn Nets.
As LeBron James is currently doing with the NBA’s all-time scoring record, Steph continues to increase the gap between himself and any other player with a chance to catch up to him.
Steph Curry is over 700 three-pointers away from the next active NBA star
It turns out that the distance between Steph and the next active player on the 3-point scoring leaders’ list is over 700 three-pointers. To make matters more interesting, Curry has made 3603 three-pointers at this very moment. He has done so by taking 8449 shots. That means he has been shooting 42.6% from the three-point line.

Consdering that Ray Allen shot 40% throughout his career, this means that Steph has been more efficient and accumulated more points. Especially since Ray Allen had a full 18-season-long NBA career compared to Steph who is still in Year 15.
Although it is highly unlikely for any player to ever take Steph’s spot on this list, some fans might certainly want to know which active NBA stars have the best chance of doing so.
Can James Harden, Damian Lillard, or any other player catch this record?
At the moment, the only other players who are in the top 5 three point-scoring leaders are James Harden and Damian Lillard. The Beard is positioned 3rd on the list with 2870 made three-pointers. Since Harden can be considered the creator of the step-back three-pointer, his high placement on this list is no real surprise. Dame Time is 5th on the list and currently at 2526 three-pointers made.
Unless Dame or Harden go on a three-point rampage toward the end of their careers, no current NBA star is expected to touch Steph Curry’s 3 point-scoring record.
