British heavyweight Tom Aspinall made his much-anticipated return at UFC London and fought Marcin Tybura. Much like his last two fights, he headlined the card inside the O2 Arena. And, he did not send the fans home disappointed. After returning from a devastating injury, it was Aspinall’s first fight in a year and he finished it at the 1:13 minute mark of the first round.

Aspinall was obviously hungry to get back into the winning column. Hence, he started off the fight with a very aggressive demeanor. From some big punches to kicks, it was evident that Aspinall was ready to make quick work of Tybura. Although Marcin was coming off 7 wins in his last 8 fights, Tom made him look like an amateur as a hard jab put the Polish fighter on the mat.
It was pretty much the end as the Manchester-based fighter followed up with some brutal ground-and-pound shots. After the bout, Aspinall took the mic and revealed that he was ready to unleash a completely different side to himself inside the Octagon. Then, he dropped perhaps the biggest quip of the night as he revealed his future plans.
He added, “I’ll tell you exactly what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna go to Paris, I’m gonna be sat front row for Ciryl Gane and against Sergey Spivak, I’m gonna beat the winner, and then I’m gonna beat Jon Jones.”
With former interim UFC heavyweight champ, Ciryl Gane scheduled to face Sergey Spivak on September 2 and Jon Jones set to defend his title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295, Aspinall is in a great spot to be an outside contender for the title. And, there is no doubt that Jones vs Aspinall in a soccer stadium in the UK would perhaps have one of the best atmospheres that any UFC event has ever had!
Sounds good lol

Even Jon Jones agreed as he took to Twitter to accept Aspinall’s proposal.
Unlike Tom Aspinall, Molly McCann leaves UFC London with a loss
While Tom Aspinall was the main event of the night, Molly McCann was perhaps the biggest fan-favorite fighter on the card. She took on Julija Stoliarenko in the co-main event of the night. While the fans gave her a massive ovation, Molly failed to deliver. She had 5 losses prior, with 2 submissions defeats in them. Hence, it was quite evident that she had issues against the better grapplers.
It was no different against Stoliarenko either as the Lithuanian fighter got the fight to the ground right away. While Molly reversed the initial submission attempt and ended up on top, she could not survive the armbar that followed and tapped out at the 1:55 minute mark of the very first round. Following her loss to Erin Blanchfield, Molly was desperate to get back to winning ways.
Put an end to this fight just 2️⃣ minutes into round one 🤯 #UFCLondon

However, not only did she lose, the Liverpool native seemed to have injured her arm as well. So it will be interesting to see what her future move is. But what did you think of the event? Let us know in the comments down below.
