Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek has found success at a very young age. At 22, Iga can boast of being the world number one with four Grand Slam titles under her belt. Despite her young age, Swiatek is one of the best players around and different brands are always trying to sign her on. The Roger Federer-backed brand, On, is the latest to name her as their ambassador.
On is a Swiss-based company that specializes in high-quality shoes and apparel. Roger Federer helped the brand come up with its tennis shoe.
Swiatek used to be a patron of the Japanese brand Asics, but she switched to On earlier this year. Iga signed a deal with them in March. She became the first-ever female tennis player to serve as their brand ambassador.
🎾 I’m thrilled to announce I am the first female tennis athlete at On. I’m happy the On team believes in me as an athlete and a person. We plan to grow, develop and make an impact together. #letsgo #DreamOn

Swiatek was supposed to make her debut head-to-toe in On at the Miami Open, but an injury ruled her out. She finally appeared in the brand’s apparel at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. In spite of her deal with On, she continued to wear her Asics shoes.
Swiatek was finally seen wearing On shoes during a practice session in Montreal last week. However, she chose to forego them during her match. This move has led people to wonder what happened to their deal.
Why did Iga Swiatek snub On?
Even though Swiatek remains one of On’s ambassadors, she is using her trustworthy Asics for now. In a recent interview at the Cincinnati Open, Swiatek revealed the reason behind it.
She added that she is working closely with the brand to design the perfect shoes for her. On’s has not fully nailed down Swiatek’s requirements that will maximize her performance.

The Pole revealed that they are still in the process of fine-tuning her shoes. “So with On, we’re basically doing the shoe that is going to be kind of perfect for my movements and my style of running,” said Swiatek (via Tennis-Infinity.com).
Iga added that she wants to feel fully confident before she wears the shoes during matches. She also confirmed that she will be seen in On Shoes very soon.
