Lacey Evans is a popular name among the pro wrestling audience, but she wasn’t really able to achieve much during her WWE stint. The female performer was considered to be a future star in the Triple H-led promotion, but her potential remained untapped.
As Lacey was a member of the WWE roster for over 7 years, she experienced a lot of things in the Stamford-based promotion, both good and bad. Talking about the same, the female star recently got brutally honest about her journey.
It happened on a recent episode of Power Alpha’s Podcast, as the former U.S. Marine shared that got into a lot of arguments in WWE. Alongside sharing about her verbal altercations, Evans admitted that the company has been great to her. In a way of showing her gratitude, she said that it’s only due to the money she earned in WWE that she’s financially stable.
It must be noted that after signing with the Stamford-based promotion back in 2016, Lacey had decent success in NXT. She was expected to carry on the same on the main roster, but it didn’t happen. After multiple controversies over the years, the 5-foot-8 eventually parted ways with the promotion in August 2023.
Why did Lacey Evans leave WWE?
The 33-year-old’s WWE departure was was a shocking move for many and fans wondered what was the reason behind it. People speculated that her exit was a result of her below-par run with the company, but the actual reason was quite different from what everyone thought.

Evans shared that she believes that she could be of more assistance while fighting a different fight outside the ring. Speaking further about her decision, the former U.S. Marine stated that she wants to help the community fight addiction.
In addition to it, she wants to prioritise mental health in society and help people get over such issues. All in all, the female star’s WWE exit was more of her own decision, as she wanted to give time to things outside of pro wrestling. But will she ever think about a potential return to the industry? Only the future knows this.
