Tennis players are some of the most dedicated players in the world. Italian star Lorenzo Sonego has dedicated his life to the sport, and he has reaped the rewards of his hard work. However, in addition to tennis, Sonego has a variety of interests, but his love for music is second to none. It is one of the reasons the Italian has invested his time in pursuing his passion.
Lorenzo is a very skilled tennis player, but his skillset goes beyond the confines of the sport. The Italian began his musical journey in 2021 when he released ‘Un Solo Secondo’. It was the first single of his life, and he released it as a duet with his childhood friend, AlterEdo.
While Lorenzo is not the first tennis player to dip his toes in the world of music, he can certainly boast of being the only one with over a million streams. Fans around the world embraced Sonego’s song, even if it was in Italian, making this feat possible.
Lorenzo reminisced about his younger days with his friend, writing songs because it was a hobby. The two friends then decided to make a real song together. “We started the music as a joke almost and we had fun. We wrote the song and put good words together and it took off,” he said (via ATP Tour).
‘Un Solo Secondo’ is not the only song Lorenzo has written and sung. He teamed up with his friend again to release another song, ‘Swing’. After months of work, Korenzo released another song ahead of Wimbledon 2023, called ‘Cielo Aperto’.
