The 6-foot-1 WWE legend was competing against Sammy Guevara when this injury took place, and it was horrifying. It happened when Sammy tried to hit a splash on Jeff from the top rope, but unfortunately his knee caught it in Hardy’s head and knocked him out. A pro wrestling enthusiast blamed AEW for this horrific spot, and commented, “Dangerous company.” “Jesus Christ that was brutal,” another member of the fan community wrote while mentioning how dangerous that whole thing looked.
AEW continued the match despite Jeff Hardy’s injury
While some members of the audience have been blaming Sammy Guevara for injuring Jeff in their no disqualification match, others have been lashing out at AEW. The reason behind the backlash the Tony Khan-led promotion has received is that they continued the encounter despite Hardy’s injury.

This match was taped after Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite at the HEB Center in Cedar Park, Texas. In fact, it was Sammy’s first match following his return after being taken off TV. At the show, he teamed up with Chris Jericho to take on Big Bill and Ricky Starks for their tag team titles and was written off after it.

Guevara’s injury to Hardy in the first match after his return has left fans furious, as they’ve been claiming that he’s not a safe worker. Despite everything that has been happening since Jeff‘s injury, the biggest question currently is his health status. In this regard, not much has been revealed yet.
