There is something about the Cleveland Cavaliers that is giving hope to its fans that they are preparing for an insane battle next season. They have already shown major signs of improvement in general. Donovan Mitchell‘s arrival has been a game-changer on various levels. For instance, they’ve got a massive boost offensively in addition to their existing firepower. It will be only a matter of time and effort before the Cavs are worthy title contenders.
Cleveland has made quite an impressive run during the 2023 NBA Summer League so far. They are currently undefeated against a few tough competitors. Josh Broghamer, the Cavs’ Summer League coach has done a brilliant job in their 5-0 so far making them top contenders for the title. Broghamer will be leading the Cavaliers under the supervision of head coach JB Bickerstaff.
The Cavaliers are looking for a couple of capable backup players, this time to piece around its main roster. Right now, the Summer League roster is being led by 2022 Draft pick Isaiah Mobley. He has shown great potential offensively and defensively leading the Cavs in points, rebounds, and assists at times. Luke Travers, Sam Merrill, Khalifa Doip, and Emoni Bates are also featured on the roster as well.
However, Sharife Cooper has been quite eye-catching as well. He had been playing for the Cleveland Charge in the league since 2022. He was drafted during the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks but eventually signed a two-way deal with its G League affiliate. After a great season with the Charge, Cooper was selected for the NBA G League Next Up Game and given an All-NBA G League second-team selection.

The Cleveland Cavaliers commenced their Summer League journey during the NBA 2K24 leg. As mentioned earlier, they have gone undefeated against the Brooklyn Nets, Memphis Grizzlies, and Toronto Raptors. Now they will face the Houston Rockets for the 2023 NBA Summer League title. The Rockets are also entering the stage undefeated after demolishing promising teams such as the Utah Jazz.

Current Players:
Sam Merrill – He signed with the Cavaliers during the 2022-23 season and appeared for only five games. Merrill averaged 5 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1 assist, and 0.8 steals.
Luke Travers – He was selected as the 56th pick during the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft. The Cavaliers have not utilized him just yet but still hold draft rights.
Khalifa Diop – The Senegalese player was also drafted by the Cavs in 2022. However, he decided to play for the Spanish League. Cleveland stills hold draft rights.
Isaiah Mobley – He signed a two-way with Cleveland’s G League affiliate. Mobley played 12 games for the Cavaliers last season averaging 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.

Fabian White – He went undrafted during the 2022 NBA Draft but signed a contract with the South Bay Lakers. The Cleveland Cavaliers announced him as a part of the summer league roster.
Devontae Shuler – He signed a contract with the Cleveland Charge after going undrafted in 2021.
Unrestricted Free Agents:
Caris LeVert – He averaged 12.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game during the 2022-23 and is likely going to resign.
Robin Lopez – The veteran center only appeared for 37 games averaging 3 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks per game. He will most likely return next season as well.
Ty Jerome – The 2019 NCAA Champion averaged signed with the Cavaliers earlier this month worth $5 million over two years.
Georges Niang – He was an integral part of the Philadelphia 76ers franchise who signed a $25.5 million three-year deal with the Cavs earlier this month.
