One of the most iconic rivalries that top the charts belongs to the 2012 feud between John Cena and Brock Lesnar. Both stars were at the peak of their career and their star power was bound to create a tremendous impact on the WWE Universe. With blood coming into the picture, fans started wondering if the stage action between them was legitimate.
John Cena received a strong punch from Lesnar resulting in bleeding from Cena’s mouth. Brock Lesnar had just returned from the martial arts promotion and the punch, according to many people, came as a reflex from him. However, there is no solid statement from the end of both stars.

PWTorch.com revealed, “When Brock Lesnar was previously in WWE (nine years ago) he did not get along with John Cena. Stories from behind the scenes say that Lesnar was not a fan of a young, up-and-coming Cena. One source actually stated, ‘Brock absolutely positively hated and detested John Cena!’” This further strengthened the basis for believing that Lesnar’s move was indeed legitimate.
Brock’s intention was to run the division and overcome the popularity that Cena was attaining in that time period. This became a very strong base of the rivalries that took place in the years that followed.
What happened between John Cena and Brock Lesnar in 2012?
During a Monday Night RAW episode in April 2012, Brock Lesnar and John Cena got into a massive brawl that brought the entire locker room onto the squared circle. Brock Lesnar was on the stage and soon out came John Cena. As the duo stood face to face amidst an exciting audience, Brock Lesnar pounced upon Cena with non-stop punches. The first punch was strong and direct enough to hit him right on his nose.
The WWE officials tried to separate the two but in vain. The WWE locker had to be emptied and everyone tried their best to keep the brawling stars at the two corners. However, both Cena and Lesnar were so full of rage that they couldn’t stop until Brock was taken backstage. Amidst all this, Cena became oblivious to the blood that filled his entire mouth. The brawl still remains one of the most talked about brawls of all time.
