WWE superstars are often seen making new records. Not only that, they are also seen breaking their own records and the records of others. Recently, a young WWE Superstar overtook top names in the Stamford-based promotion to make a record.
Previously a list of WWE superstars was released. It featured the names of the top 5 superstars who wrestled the maximum number of matches in 2023 to date. The list presented Austin Theory in the top spot with 59 matches. Second came Damian Priest of The Judgement Day with 58 matches. The third spot belonged to Seth Rollins tied with Priest at 58 matches.

The last two spots on the list were taken by Cody Rhodes and Gunther, who participated in 57 matches each. However, now it has been reported that Austin Theory has overtaken everyone on the list to become the most active WWE superstar in 2023. As of now, Theory has wrestled the most matches this year, a total of 78 matches.

This is a huge achievement for him, keeping in mind that he is only 26 years old. Meanwhile, things haven’t been going smoothly for Theory lately. However, now that he has already had the most number of matches this year, it is to be seen what other record he proceeds to make in the upcoming days.
Taking a look at the journey of Austin Theory in WWE in 2023
The year 2023 has been full of ups and downs for Austin Theory. He had been a part of several top-notch bouts and made the WWE Universe witness his rise. On the other hand, he recently suffered a major loss and the entire wrestling community witnessed his downfall.
After the young WWE superstar won the United States Championship last year, he went on to defend it against various opponents. The audience at Elimination Chamber 2023 saw Theory successfully defend the title against several opponents. These include Seth Rollins, Damian Priest, Montez Ford, Johnny Gargano, and Bronson Reed.
Following that, Theory was seen at the Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania 39, where he defeated John Cena to retain the championship. He once again successfully defended the championship against Bobby Lashley and Bronson Reed at Backlash 2023.
Moving ahead, he continued to channel his supremacy by retaining the title against several opponents. However, he lost the United States Championship to Rey Mysterio on August 11, in an impromptu match. Thus, his winning streak finally came to an end. He however tried to gain back the title from Mysterio at Payback but failed miserably.
Following the PPV event, he lost to LA Knight in the following episode of SmackDown in a singles bout. Next week, he was seen in a segment with The Rock. However, things didn’t go well for Theory as he ended up eating the People’s Elbow from Dwayne Johnson.
After a lot of awful days, he and Grayson Waller finally scored a win on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. However, after wrestling in so many matches and going through so much, it is to be seen what the Triple H-led promotion has planned for the former United States Champion in the upcoming days.
