Victor Wembanyama took the NBA world by storm and is projected to have a career better than most legends. He has a very interesting set of skills despite being an extremely tall center. Normally, people of his stature, struggle to show versatility. Nowadays, players that have a one-dimensional game do not go very far in the league. But it is quite the opposite for the French superstar.

The 7-foot-4-inch tall center currently plays for the San Antonio Spurs. It wasn’t until 2022 that he burst onto the scene. The French star is regarded as a generational talent, a term that hasn’t been used since LeBron James made his way to the league. Moreover, Wembanyama is tied with Boban Marjanović as the tallest player in the NBA. These aspects have unsurprisingly placed the spotlight on Wembanyama’s family as well. He has a sister, Eve Wembanyama, who is a basketball player too.

Victor Wembanyama might have drawn inspiration from his family, who are or were dedicated athletes. His parents, Felix Wembanyama and Elodie de Fautereau, were both great athletes. Felix taught his son the fundamentals of sports and then he branched off to basketball. Elodie was a soccer and judo athlete, but due to her 6″3 height, she competed as a basketball professional and eventually became a coach. Their legacy was carried on by their children.
His sister might be the most accomplished athlete in the family as of now. Eve Wembanyama played Division Two basketball in France. She competes for Monaco in the Ligue Feminine 2 De. Eve averages 6.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game as well. Listed as a small forward at 6″1 ft, Victor’s sister helped France win the gold medal at the FIBA U-16 Women’s European Championship back in 2017.
Victor also has a brother named Oscar, and he is another athlete on the Wembanyama roster. Oscar is younger than Victor but has already made a professional debut. Much like his brother, Oscar participated in the U-15 Nanterre Team. He is more or less Victor’s successor in the French league as he currently plays for ASVEL.
