Derrick White is the new name on the NBA scene now. Having saved the Celtics’ series with his last-second putback layup, he finds himself and his family thrust into the spotlight. Celtics fans sure are thanking their stars that the front office traded for him, relinquishing a protected first-round pick and not much more. This begs the question, who is Derrick White’s companion off the court, and could she be the reason behind his sudden surge in play?
White played for the UCCS Mountains Lions during his college tenure from 2012 to 2015 and later with the Colorado Buffaloes before being drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in 2017. It was in Colorado that White met his future bride, Hannah Schneider. The pair started dating in college and have been together ever since. Their love has truly stood the test of time as it’s widely regarded that it’s not easy to maintain a relationship with an NBA player due to their pressing workload.
White proposed to Schneider in 2020 but alas due to the pandemic, their plans to tie the marital knot had to wait. After about a year of engagement, the couple was married in 2021 among friends and family. Due to White being a member of the San Antonio Spurs at the time, several notable Spurs players were in attendance including Keldon Johnson, Dejounte Murray, and Devin Vassel.
Derrick White and Hannah White have a son named Hendrix
On the 19th of May, 2022 Derrick White welcomed his son into the world. It might interest fans to know that he is named after legendary American guitarist Jimi Hendrix. One of his earliest memories must be sitting with his dad on the couch and watching the Celtics win Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat in the 2022 NBA playoffs.
Talking more about Hendrix’s mother. we can glean from her LinkedIn profile that Hannah White is from Boulder, Colorado. She attended Chaparral High School in Parker, Colorado, and was previously working the front desk at Northwest Animal Hospital in Colorado Springs. It can be gauged quite certainly that Hannah now works as a homemaker, nurturing her son while White is on the court.
