It hasn’t been long since Tyler Herro entered the NBA but his presence has taken the league by storm. The impact that he has had on the Miami Heat is phenomenal. So far, the South Beach team has been one of the toughest competitors in the league, especially during the playoffs. But they’ve still got a lot to prove this season solely based on how much more competitive the Eastern Conference has gotten over the summer.
In 2021, Herro set off on a journey to stardom. He averaged 20.7 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists during the season. But the Heat wasn’t successful enough to make a deep playoff push. However, they continued to work harder last season. Even though their regular season stint wasn’t all that impressive, they surprisingly dominated during the post-season.
Unfortunately, Tyler Herro did not have much to do with the Heat’s success in the post-season. While he was an integral part of their play-in tournament success, he ended up injuring himself during the first round of the playoffs against the Milwaukee Bucks. Herro suffered from a fractured hand and was sidelined until the NBA Finals. Even then, he chose not to play as it would’ve ruined the chemistry the Heat had built until then.
Tyler Herro is expected to be sidelined for two weeks
With the 2023-24 season on a roll, Tyler Herro made it a point to be a better scorer. Until now, he proved it by averaging 25 points per game before being struck by the injury plague again. In their latest bout against the Memphis Grizzlies, Herro injured himself midway through the first quarter. This gave fans immediate flashbacks to when he fractured his hand during the playoffs. Tyler didn’t get on his feet until his teammates helped him up. He hopped on one leg and went straight into the locker room to get checked.
The former Sixth Man of the Year was ruled out for the remainder of the game. Miami managed to pull off a victory under Bam Adebayo’s lead. Herro finished with 6 points, 2 assists, and one rebound. Following the game, Tyler told the media, “I heard some crunches and cracks in my ankle and I’m like ‘yeah, that’ll be it.’ So, I actually told the bench like ‘I’m done.'”
“Obviously probably a couple weeks…

Tyler Herro is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks until further notice. So far, he’s been the Heat’s best player this season. Miami may face a slight dip offensively and it could backfire on them as well. Jimmy Butler hasn’t been entirely consistent but he tends to play better under pressure. But Adebayo is doing a great job in anchoring the Heat’s defense and offense to some extent.
