SUMMARY
- Stephen Curry tweaked his ankle against the Bulls last night.
- The Warriors have not revealed the extent of his ankle injury yet.
Steph Curry has been the glue holding everything together in the Bay Area. Ever since the 2024 NBA All-Star break, the Golden State Warriors have been on a pretty successful run. However, their hot streak began way before the first half of the season concluded. But the 2x MVP has been the biggest reason behind their recent emergence. Not to mention the various other changes Steve Kerr has also implemented.
Right now, the Warriors rank ninth in the Western Conference. They have been maintaining this position in hopes of utilizing the Play-In Tournament to achieve another playoff run. Based on their recent performances, it is likely that they easily get through the Play-Ins without much trouble. Curry has also been averaging impressive numbers with the younger stars like Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski taking up bigger roles. But how will they manage with Curry’s recent setback?
The severity of Steph Curry’s injury remains unclear
Before the Warriors took on the Milwaukee Bucks, Steph Curry faced slight discomfort in his ankle after tweaking it earlier. However, he managed to play against Giannis Antetokounmpo’s squad. Curry led his team to a 35-point victory. However, even though he didn’t face any issues ahead of their recent matchup against the Chicago Bulls, Curry tweaked his ankle again.

It was late during the game with almost four minutes when the 4x NBA Champion twisted his ankle on a drive to the basketball. He was removed from the game leaving Podziemski and Lester Quinones to replace him. Unfortunately, the Warriors gave up a massive lead and Quinones ended up missing the game-winner, which would’ve not happened in Curry’s presence. However, the extent of his injury remains unknown.
Klay Thompson is confident that Steph Curry will pick up where he left off
Coach Kerr did not have much information on Steph Curry following the Bulls’ beatdown of the Warriors. He claimed that Curry was getting his ankle soaked in ice in the locker room. But Klay Thompson shared a few words saying, “We’ve been in this position before where he has had time off, and we’ve just got to do it collectively.”
“I know he’ll be ready to go when he does come back, whenever that is. We just want to wish him a speedy recovery, and to take his time,” he concluded. Thompson and the rest of the group have been in the position many times before. It was towards the end of the 2022-23 regular season when Curry injured himself and missed 11 games. The Warriors haven’t updated his availability yet as they prepare for their next matchup.
