The New York Knicks have been trying to level their best to maintain consistency over the last couple of seasons. They finished 5th in the Eastern Conference this season and managed to make a decent playoff run as well. But after six dedicated seasons, Scott Perry and the Knicks are parting ways as his contract expires. Despite a few ups and downs, Perry helped them sign a couple of valuable stars in the last few years.
Scott was hired as the New York Knicks General Manager back in 2017 and helped them land deals with Jalen Brunson, Derrick Rose, Evan Fournier, and a few other star role players. However, one of his biggest acquisitions was Julius Randle. The power forward has now become their key player as well. With Perry exiting, fans believe that it was a decision made to acquire Bob Myers.

Myers also announced that he was stepping down from his positions as President of Basketball Operations and General Manager of the Golden State Warriors. Bob had been with the Warriors since 2011. He played a huge part in creating one of the biggest NBA dynasties of all time which included prolific scorer Kevin Durant, two of the greatest shooters in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as well as defensive juggernaut, Draymond Green.
How will Bob Myers be able to help the New York Knicks?
Despite being criticized for his work with the Warriors, Myers is very good at retaining valuable veteran players. He managed to keep the Warriors’ core trio perfectly intact despite having multiple roster changes around them. Myers is also very smart in understanding the requirements of a team and how to acquire suitable players.

The 2x NBA Executive of the Year could be of great help to the New York Knicks, especially if it comes to signing superstars to the roster. Myers could attract veteran leaders like Thompson and Green who are in the final years of their Warriors contracts. If they choose to explore free agency next season, the Knicks might become a considerable destination because of Myers’ presence.
The Knicks are more or less one superstar away from being a legitimate title contender. The incredible signing of Jalen Bruson helped the Knicks soar to greater heights. The addition of another superstar alongside Brunson will be the best route to go. New York lost to the eighth-seeded Miami Heat, who have advanced to the NBA Finals. The Knicks are certainly a strong team that can work wonders soon.
