Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony are two well-known legends of the NBA. During their careers, both players were insanely dominant. Melo entered the league years after KG. However, the former New York Knicks player blew up almost immediately and reached insane heights as one of the most talented scorers of the game. Garnett was famous for his defensive efforts and ability to verbally demolish his opponents.
However, it was quite unexpected that Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony would get involved in a feud. Basketball is a highly competitive sport and things often get heated on the court. But during a game between the Knicks and Boston Celtics, KG and Melo got extremely physical and almost wrestled on the court.
Ultimately, this led to them receiving technical fouls from the referees for excessive contact. But what happened on the court infuriated Anthony to the point where he wanted to personally confront Garnett.
Following the game on January 7, 2013, Carmelo Anthony ended up chasing Kevin Garnett. Sources revealed that KG said something offensive to Anthony. The latter told Garnett that he would talk to him after the game. Anthony allegedly waited for Garnett near the Celtics‘ locker room. Eventually, he made his way to the Celtics’ team bus which Garnett had to inevitably board.

A source on X recently revealed what may have been said by Kevin Garnett that rubbed Carmelo Anthony the wrong way. The source claimed that KG allegedly said, “I f**ked your bi*ch,” during an extremely physical play before the foul call. Melo replied to Garnett saying, “Come here, you ain’t saying that sh*t to me! You’re a bi*ch.” Anthony seemed like he was ready to fight Garnett as well. This was when the referee decided to intervene and issue a double technical.
However, Bleacher Report claimed that Kevin Garnett told Carmelo Anthony that his wife, La La Anthony “tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios.” Obviously, either comment made would’ve been crass. The X source also revealed audio proof of words exchanged between Garnett and Anthony following the game.

Kevin said, “I already talked to you, pu**y. You better than that, on some real sh*t. You know you’re better than that, my n***a. What are you talking about?” Melo replied, “I don’t play, mo**erf**ker. I can’t stand this sh*t.” At the end of the video, the source also showed former Celtics player, Jordan Crawford telling Carmelo Anthony, “That mo**erf**ker [KG] f**ked your wife.”
However, days after the incident took place, Carmelo Anthony told the media that he had no bad blood with Kevin Garnett anymore. Interestingly, the Anthonys joked about the incident on a few occasions. Unfortunately, La La and Carmelo filed for divorce in 2021.
