Lamar Jackson has been a game-changing athlete in the NFL over the last couple of years. It has only been a few years since he got drafted in 2018 by the Baltimore Ravens. However, both parties have been having trouble finalizing a contract for him to stay. It is quite unfortunate that they are in this situation as the Ravens saw nothing but success with him. But it is Jackson who has disagreed with the offers the Ravens have given him.

Recently, Baltimore finalized a blockbuster deal with three-time pro-bowl player Odell Beckham Jr., who has a ton of experience to give around. The Ravens only signed a one-year contract worth $13.8 million but could be worth much higher by the end of it due to incentives. Lamar Jackson seemed fairly happy about this addition to the team. He was spotted partying with his new teammate following the acquisition.

Jackson even reacted to the signing via Instagram with a couple of emoticons. He probably meant to express his excitement over the incredible deal. Odell is certainly someone who can elevate the team to a whole new level. Maybe Baltimore went ahead with this signing in hopes of retaining Lamar on to the roster. For all we know, it might actually fall in place.
Why is Lamar Jackson known as the James Harden of the NFL?
If you are an NBA fan, you probably know of James Harden and his decorated basketball career. The NBA superstar was one of the best players in the league a couple of years ago. He was possibly even the best player in the league as he also won multiple scoring titles and the MVP award too. Similarly, Lamar Jackson blew up very quickly, earning himself an MVP award and several other accolades along the way.

Jackson is one of the best offensive players in the NFL at the moment and that’s where he is the most talented. If there was one aspect that they’re both known for, it’s their lack of titles. Neither Jackson nor Harden have won NBA or NFL titles until now, despite being arguably some of the top players in their respective sports. In Harden’s case, he is way past his prime and is slowly entering the final few seasons of his esteemed career.
As a result, the Beard has had issues staying with teams that aren’t competing for the title. Over the course of two years, he has switched between three teams. Lamar Jackson is slowly walking down the same path, in fact. Perhaps the Ravens’ recent signing will get Jackson what he has wanted all these years. Beckham Jr. has led his former teams into deep playoff runs and ultimately won the Super Bowl in 2021.
