From teaching the world how to make tie a four-hand knot to becoming arguably the biggest player in the NBA, Jayson Tatum has earned himself a fortune over the years. He is one of the star players of the Boston Celtics and a leading prospect for the league MVP years in years to come. However, as an individual with a hefty bank balance, Jayson still consults his mother before using his money.
Much like Achraf Hakimi, who is known as one of the “most expensive” footballers of today with a lucrative contract. The Paris Saint Germain FC defender was slammed with molestation accusations over a month ago. As a result, his wife, Hiba Abouk, a Spanish actress filed for divorce following the allegations. The couple are currently separated but Abouk had a special request to the court.

Following the divorce, the actress requested the court for half of Hakimi’s fortune for settlement. However, to everyone’s surprise, the athlete deposited his money and fortune under his mother’s name leaving him with absolutely nothing. His mother claims that she had no idea he did this to protect himself. Abouk’s request could not be fulfilled as a result. Similarly, Jayson Tatum also does not spend his fortune without consulting his mother.
Why does Jayson Tatum avoid spending his NBA salary?
The Boston Celtics forward could become one of the biggest earners in the NBA next season. He signed a five-year $163 million contract with the franchise back in 2021 which is valid until 2025 (including player option) after which he can become an unrestricted free agent. However, he is eligible to sign an extension next offseason which would nearly double the value of his original contract, a supermax deal worth $318 million.
There’s a lot of money on the line in Boston with All-NBA selections 😳💰

With all the money and fame, most NBA get on the wrong path at times. Tatum chooses to stay responsible for the betterment of his future. Jayson does not spend a single dime from his NBA salary but saves it up instead. His mother, a lawyer by profession, is the one who helps him manage his money. Jayson said that he first consults his mother before using his salary for anything.
I don’t see why all the hate. It worked out nice for this man: pic.twitter.com/Xt7oX3SA6t

The Celtics player using uses his endorsement money to splurge. Tatum does not use his NBA salary because he wants to maintain the family’s generational wealth. His head is way ahead in the future as this would also benefit his son, Deuce Tatum.
