Jimmy Butler had some jokes for the NBA media concerning Kyle Lowry. This was following this otherworldly performance on the road to win game 6 vs the Boston Celtics. He had a 47-point outburst against a strong defence like The Cs.
Kyle and Jimmy have managed to even the series at 3-3 and forced a game 7. Lowry may have had one of his better games. But game 6 was all about Jimmy. He had single-handedly carried the Miami Heat on the road and had a playoff career-high against what everyone considered a more talented Boston team.
Kyle was asked what he thought about Jimmy Butler’s performance in this must-win game 6. Jimmy had earlier replied that he had a “decent game” which Kyle scoffed at. Here is what Lowry had to say.

It is no small feat to carry a team deep into the NBA postseason. Kyle, who won a championship with Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors knows this. Therefore when he was asked what he thought of Butler, he responded with “It’s f***ing incredible“.
Lowry then quickly added, ” my bad, my bad, don’t fine me NBA, that was really by mistake I promise“. This response was met by Jimmy Butler grinning and saying ” Fine him, fine him y’all fine me all the time”.
Reporter: “How you describe Jimmy’s game?”
Kyle Lowry: “It’s f***ing incredible! My bad, my bad. Don’t fine me NBA, that was really by mistake, I promise.”

Jimmy has built a somewhat notorious reputation for himself through this career. Therefore, the NBA has fined him several times in the past. The most recent time they fined him was for a “vulgar celebration” in these playoffs.
Kyle should have chosen more family-friendly words in his postgame press conference. However, there was nothing family-friendly about what Jimmy did to the Boston Celtics in game 6.
Jimmy initially underplayed his monster game as “decent“. This urged a reaction in Lowry who could not contain himself at this act of potential false modesty.
Kyle felt Butler needed his props and gave them to him. Hopefully, those props won’t come for a price at Lowry’s expense. However, we clearly know Butler thinks Lowry could live with paying the fine.
