Jayson Tatum has been one of the most devoted members of the Boston Celtics since his arrival. In a recent video, the Celtics star showed his loyalty to his franchise with a snarky response to a Miami Heat fan, earning plaudits from Celtics supporters.
A Miami Heat fan recently approached Jayson Tatum and asked him to join the team during the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame celebration. Tatum flatly rejected him, responding with a one-word remark.

“Come to the Heat!” the fan said. Tatum shook his head and replied, “Nah,” in response to the Miami fan before laughing it off and moving on. He then greeted a Boston supporter who was shouting, “Go Celtics!” Needless to say, it doesn’t appear that Tatum will be joining his opponents anytime soon.
Jayson Tatum admits he joined the enshrinement party for Dwayne Wade
Plenty of celebrities walked the red carpet for the event, including Dirk Nowitzki, Dwyane Wade, Pau Gasol, Tony Parker, and Gregg Popovich. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony was jam-packed with jokes, tales, one-liners, and wild interruptions from a raucous crowd eager to see one of the greatest and most varied classes in recent memory.
Gregg Popovich let everyone know they weren’t paying attention; Tony Parker told the world Tim Duncan didn’t like him; and Dwyane Wade brought his father onto the stage with him to declare, “We are the Hall of Fame dog.”
Some of the NBA’s current players, including Jayson Tatum, Chris Paul, and Bam Adebayo, walked the red carpet. When asked about who Tatum came to the event for, he said, “Everybody, but my man, Dwade.” Not only Tatum, but Bam and Carmelo Anthony revealed that they came for Dwayne Wade as well.

Wade has previously stated that Tatum is one of his favorite players, and they both share a loving bond. “He’s one of my favorite players in the NBA,” Wade said of Tatum in a recent interview. “He’s one of my favorite people in the NBA to communicate with, to talk with, to do anything with, and I want to see him get everything he wants from the game.”
Despite the inter-franchise rivalry, both players have mutual admiration for each other. The two teams have had a number of memorable playoff clashes, most recently and notably a seven-game Miami triumph in the 2023 Eastern Conference finals.
But that doesn’t mean there isn’t mutual respect. Players on either side of the equation, whether Paul Pierce and LeBron James (at that time) or Jayson Tatum and Bam Adebayo, have been eager to offer praise or a tip of the hat to their opponents.
