The NBA season has finally come to an end, with the Denver Nuggets winning it all. The team’s much-awaited championship was the result of a pure championship roster build since 2014. Some of the fans had been waiting for the end of the Finals series, not for any exciting reason. The league announced that it would give its decision on Ja’s situation post the NBA Finals.
And as all the fans had been anticipating, Ja Morant is likely to receive suspension, though for how many games, is what will be announced.
Lil Wayne contacted Skip Bayless to connect with Ja Morant so that he could mentor him in an effort to assist Ja.
Ja and his camp never replied.

Morant was caught in yet another controversy as he was seen holding a firearm on his friend’s Instagram live stream. This was the second instance where Ja was seen around an influenced environment. This was after the Nuggets had been eliminated from the playoffs in the second round. Around the same time, Lil Wayne reacted to Ja’s situation, as later on the artist would try to reach out to Morant.
Lil Wayne does not blame Ja Morant for his actions
When asked about Morant, Lil Wayne had done a background check on Ja, as he defended him amid the controversy. “He come from like a town of 3000 people… You expect him to be responsible?” said Wayne. While he did mention some valid points, the league as well as the fans were still concerned about Morant’s future. After the commissioner’s word, it was pretty clear that Ja was bound to face the consequences of his actions.
Lil Wayne had asked Skip Bayless in an attempt to connect with Ja. Wayne decided to assist Ja, mentoring him through the current rough times he’s going through. Though Morant and his camp never replied to this proposition.
Morant wouldn’t have to face any sort of media for this, as it would surely be a conversation with one of the greatest artists of all time about Morant’s ongoing situation. Ja’s off-court activities did affect his personality and performance as well along the way.
Morant did look to surround himself with better people and a healthy environment. Going into the next season, Ja will most likely not suit up for the first half of the season. Though it will be interesting to see how long the league decided to keep Ja off the court, as his presence on the team is indeed crucial. The Grizzlies will have to manage quite a few games without their star guard, which would definitely affect their position in the Western Conference.
