Michael Jordan is a person the entire basketball community worships these days. He played through three decades and witnessed several legends graze the floor during his time. But none of them believed that they were better than Mike. To this day, people who played against the Hall of Famer all claim that he is indeed the best player ever. Shaquille O’Neal played against MJ and LeBron James, but he still chose Jordan as the GOAT.

Over two years ago, “The Last Dance” documentary series blew up the internet and had fans praising Michael Jordan for what he did on the court. However, the series focused mainly on the Chicago Bulls‘ success story. Mike got severely criticized for taking all the credit, but a few defended the GOAT, claiming he didn’t have control over the final cut of the series. All in all, Mike was still someone who understood the intricacies of basketball, even things some could not get their head around.

Being as legendary as he was even before the NBA, endorsement deals were just waiting to be finalized with the GOAT. Hollywood A-lister Ben Affleck used this idea to write a movie called “Air,” which received really good reviews from critics. But to write the storyline, Affleck had to go to an extent to get the written information. The movie was about Nike’s Sonny Vacarro trying to sign Jordan to a good deal.

Michael Jordan had a list of demands before agreeing to Ben Affleck’s request

“Air” actually received a lot of good feedback from its viewers and fans praised Affleck’s direction. Fans were incredibly surprised by the masterful depiction of a story that took place over three decades ago. Ben apparently had frequent meet-ups with Michael Jordan himself to be more accurate with the story, making it more realistic to what had happened.

Mike’s only sincere request was that Viola Davis plays his mother’s role in the movie and that Howard White’s (VP of Jordan and Nike) character was depicted.

As surprised as fans were with the outcome of the movie, Ben actually prefers to direct movies a lot more. In the past, Affleck directed movies that received global recognition. Movies like Argo, Gone Baby Gone, and Live By Night are some of his hits. Similarly, Air also received very good ratings online. In fact, this movie might have the highest ratings he has ever gotten.

This wouldn’t have been an easy task for Ben to accomplish. In the past, Michael Jordan was approached by another famous actor, Idris Elba. The actor offered to play Mike in a movie but the GOAT did not like the idea of it. MJ declined his offer. Jordan certainly keeps himself on a high pedestal and this means he has standards that have to be met. Perhaps, Affleck’s past work was good enough in Mike’s eyes.
