Possible fourth DPOY?
Utah is the fourth seed as they missed their stars like Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell at the same time. Rudy was averaging 16.0 points, 15.1 rebounds, 2.3 blocks before being sidelined. Accordingly, the Frenchman made his third All-star game and was on track to win his fourth Defensive Player of the Year award.

When did Rudy Gobert get injured?
Gorbet suffered this calf injury against the Golden State Warriors on 23 January 2022. He was sidelined from the game with two and a half minutes remaining. As reported by Salt Lake Tribune correspondent Eric Walden, Rudy felt a slow tear right away. He said, “We’re gonna be cautious. I felt something right away … not a tear, but … like a slow tear. I tried to play through it, but I knew I wasn’t moving right.”

At the time of Gobert’s injury, the Jazz had a record of 30-17 as they were one game behind the third-place Memphis and three games ahead of the fifth-seeded Mavericks. Now Utah is fourth in the west with a record of 32 wins and 21 losses. The Utah Jazz has a record of 3-8 without Rudy Gobert this season.
