It is now a well-known fact that LeBron James from the Los Angeles Lakers is looking forward to playing with his son Bronny James. This has led to much speculation regarding the King’s future in Hollywood and whether his desires pose an imminent threat to his career as a Laker.
However, he seemed to have silenced the first wave of people believing he will soon leave by signing a contract extension for 2 years worth up to $97.1 million. Moreover, the 4x NBA champion also released a statement making his feelings and thoughts about the future clear. It is important to understand what LeBron said to decode how much truth there is to it.
LeBron James is still committed to the Los Angeles Lakers
To no real surprise, King James shut down all notions that he planned to leave the Lakers. After all, these types of trade talks and rumors are considered quite toxic to the team locker room and chemistry. Therefore, it would make complete sense for him to say that he is optimistic and looks forward to the upcoming season with his team.
However, we should remind everyone that the Los Angeles Lakers had a subpar record of 33 wins and 49 losses this season. Moreover, this is the second time LeBron has missed the playoffs as a Laker. Thus, it would be no surprise if he did want to leave. That does not seem to be the case.
“I came here because I believe in this franchise and I’m still here. It’s literally that simple.”
The Lakers superstar certainly makes a valid point. Additionally, there is no reason to believe he is lying. After all, it is possible Bronny James never becomes good enough to make it to the NBA. That would mean LeBron has no reason to leave his team anymore.
On the other hand. it might be wrong to dismiss Bronny’s chances to make it into the league. He is definitely proving to be something special.
