The Golden State Warriors are now 6-8 on the season after losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder 130-123 in overtime on 18th November. Despite Steph Curry’s injury comeback, the Dubs were unable to secure their second home victory of the regular season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren proved their class.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren were the standouts for this game against the Warriors. They took over the game with Shai scoring 40 points and Chet scoring 36 points respectively. Shai was all praises about his team-mate after the match, he said:
“Yeah, he gave us a chance. Chet’s a fighter. Every possession, every play he fights, he competes no matter what. And his skill set took over the fight mentality and gave us an extra five minutes to go get the game and fortunately enough, we did.” Shai said after the game.

Chet’s last-minute clutch shot took the game to overtime, Andrew Wiggins of the Warriors thought that he had sealed the game with 1.6 seconds remaining on the clock but Chet had different plans. Once the game went to OT, Shai took over with his brilliant performance and won the game for the OKC.

Chet Holmgren set the NBA alight with his masterful performance against the Warriors in the NBA. He proved to everyone his worth by scoring a clutch last-second basket and took the game to overtime which eventually led to their victory by 130-123.

With 40 points, six rebounds, and six assists(StatMuse) from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Golden State Warriors 130-123 in overtime on 18th November, their sixth consecutive loss. Shai has been performing at his flying best in the NBA this season.
On the other hand, another rookie sensation and Shai’s team-mate Chet Holmgren too dropped a masterclass against the Warriors with 36 points and 10 rebounds to his name. They both sank the Warriors and dealt them their 6th consecutive loss of the season.

After the game, Chet responded by saying, “Man, it’s huge. Like you said, we were down big at points, but we stayed together, really played for each other and, you know, we were able to string, string together enough good you know. To give us a chance at the end, sent it to OT and then, you know, number two took over, does what he does, took it to OT and really won us the game there.”
Chet and Shai have been commendable payers for the OKC Thunders this NBA season. They have given their fans a glimmer of hope that they can achieve some form of success this season. It remains to be seen how the Thunders perform in the upcoming games.
