With Ja Morant finally having made his much-anticipated return to the court, it might surprise fans to hear that Ja has not made too many significant changes in his life following recent events. As many NBA fans might be aware, the young Memphis Grizzlies star recently completed a 25-game suspension due to his questionable activities outside the court.
Although Morant never really did anything illegal, reportedly getting into fights and waving firearms for amusement was something that the NBA didn’t look at very kindly. Since Ja repeated his actions after being warned the first time, the league had no choice but to suspend him.
It was initially reported that Morant had to undergo therapy and seriously introspect about his life choices. While one might assume that led to Ja reshaping his social circle, his father revealed that was not the case.
Tee Morant revealed that Ja Morant has not changed his inner circle of friends
When fans initially found out that Ja Morant was engaging in gang-like behavior, many theorized that his money and friends circle played an integral role in influencing him to behave that way. Therefore, it would make sense to cut off all bonds with negative elements associated with them while focusing solely on basketball.
Be that as it may, Tee Morant revealed that his son’s friends were not bad people and should not be cut off due to Ja making a few bad decisions at a young age. Tee clearly had no problem in defending the people that he felt had no role to play in all of this.
Ja Morant’s dad says Memphis Grizzlies star hasn’t made any changes to his inner circle:

“We got the same circle…It’s always funny that people want you to change your circle even if, like, he don’t have no killers around him. He’s got educated people around him. But everyone else thinks, ‘Okay, this person is this, this person is that.’ No! Everybody knows their task. It was a bad decision. But it wasn’t a crime.”
