SUMMARY
- Anthony Davis turned a lot of heads due to his near hairstyle.
- Fans claim that he is trying to imitate Sam Sulek.
NBA fans are conflicted after noticing that Anthony Davis has a new look. Most members of the basketball community should be aware that Davis is one of the franchise cornerstones for the Los Angeles Lakers and played an integral role in helping the team win an NBA championship back in 2020.
Davis is currently in his 5th year with the Lakers and is undoubtedly one of their best two-way players. He scored a triple-double with 26 points 15 rebounds and 11 assists in the Lakers’ most recent game against the Charlotte Hornets.
Despite having an impressive performance that deserves a fair share of acknowledgment, AD’s new hairstyle took the limelight and gained quite a lot of attention on social media. With that being said, a closer look is required.

NBA fans who are also interested in bodybuilding and lifting weights will have likely heard of Sam Sulek. Sam is a 21-year-old fitness influencer best known for his YouTube and Instagram videos. Due to his incredible physique and frame, he has gained an impressive fan following within a seemingly short period of time.

As a result, some fans opined that Davis was trying to imitate Sam’s hairstyle, “Dude thinks he’s Sam Sulek.” Others also opined that AD looked like a well-known comedian and actor called Carrot Top. Both Carrot Top and Sam Sulek part their bushy hair to the sides while leaving the forehead with space and wearing caps.

Although it is unclear if AD was trying to imitate any other well-known personality, the majority of fans are under the impression that this new look simply does not suit him. Some even went far enough to demand that he go back to one of his former hairstyles.
In any case, after taking a look at his most recent performance for the Lakers, it is likely that this new look might just be giving AD confidence to perform at a higher level. At the very least, it provides a sense of change and growth. Fans are now left wondering if Davis will stick with his new hairstyle or change it once again in the wake of the criticism against it.
