SUMMARY
- Rumors suggest that Patrick Beverley has demanded to be either started or traded.
- Radio host Brandon Kravitz and reporter Dilan Bosch raised concerns about the incident.
As the NBA trade deadline on February 8th comes near, NBA stars often find themselves surrounded by trade rumors. This time, it’s the Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley who came under the spotlight.
A post from a fake account @TheNBACentel claims that Beverley demanded to the 76ers: “Either start me or trade me.” However, there is no credible source to support this statement. It seems to be nothing more than a stunt to get views on the internet.

Beverley has not publicly made such demands. He is currently averaging 6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game with shooting percentages of 42.4% from the field and 31.7% from deep.
Radio host claims Patrick Beverley planted fake reporter at news conference
After a game where the 76ers defeated the Orlando Magic, Beverley’s post-game social media activity sparked controversy. A post-game comment made by Beverley led to a question directed at Magic’s Wendell Carter Jr. during a news conference, which Beverley later discussed on his “Pat Bev Podcast.”
Following this incident, Magic radio host Brandon Kravitz claimed he “strongly believes” that Beverley had planted the reporter in order to create a story. Independent reporter Dilan Bosch later supported Kravitz’s theory.

Bosch claimed that the reporter was a “plant for sure” and that he had seen him walking back to the Sixers’ team bus with Beverley after the press conference. Beverley scored five points, six rebounds, and four assists in 28 minutes in the win against the Magic.
NBA insider said there is limited trade deadline buzz around the Sixers
As the NBA trade deadline approaches, the Philadelphia 76ers are in a difficult position, mainly because of the uncertainty surrounding Joel Embiid’s knee injury. Despite the reigning NBA MVP’s health concerns, there haven’t been many rumors about the 76ers making big moves before the deadline.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, “there’s not a lot of buzz” around the team’s potential trades. The team has not made any big changes to their approach even after Embiid’s injury, who suffered a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee.
With a long-term view in mind, the Sixers might wait until the offseason to make big moves, possibly creating considerable cap space to get another star to join Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Meanwhile, the team’s recent victory over the Utah Jazz led by Maxey’s career-high 51 points gives them hope in these challenging times.
