SUMMARY
- Trae Young underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn RCL in his left hand.
- An account on X claimed that Draymond Green had visited the Hawks star following a successful surgery.
It has been a tough journey for Trae Young this season battling critics and issues surrounding the Atlanta Hawks. Despite the setbacks, the 3x NBA All-Star has stood his ground and fought back to maintain a consistent record. But still, the Hawks have been struggling to climb up the leaderboard and make another playoff run. Last season, they made the playoffs but were eliminated during the first round by the Boston Celtics.
The addition of head coach Quin Snyder has worked out decently but the Hawks still require more help on defense. Young leads the team’s offense averaging 26.4 points per game backed by Dejounte Murray’s 21.5 points. Ahead of the trade deadline, the Hawks were rumored in various scenarios but nothing came out of them. While the Hawks were looking forward to climbing up the Play-In Tournament berths, tragedy struck once again. Young tore a radial collateral ligament in one of his fingers on his left hand.
Shelby Miller and Rayford Young were at the hospital with Trae Young
Recently, an account called NBA Centel on X claimed that Draymond Green visited Trae Young. The post went viral as one of the individuals in the picture resembled how Green looked. However, this account is popular for its fake news which completely debunks the claim that it made. The image was taken from Young’s Instagram post following a successful surgery. He was visited by his father, Rayford Young, and his wife, Shelby Miller.

In the caption, he said, “Made it through… 1st surgery & God willing my last… don’t worry I’ll be when the time is right!” The caption concluded with a verse from the Bible. It read, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.” Young’s surgery was a success and the Hawks will now closely monitor his progress.
Trae Young’s return date is yet to be set
When the injury was first announced, sources claimed that Trae Young would be re-evaluated four weeks after the surgery. This means, Young is set to miss at least 15 games scheduled during that period. The Hawks are expected to closely monitor his progress over the coming weeks and before giving a solid return date. Young would also have to make sure the repaired RCL is strong enough to sustain any kind of minor damage.

Trae Young injured his hand during a game against the Toronto Raptors on February 23. He finished with 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists in 35 minutes. Young did not appear on the court against the Orlando Magic two days later after which the Hawks announced the injury. He is likely to return at the beginning of April.
