The Chicago Bulls appear ready to make some significant changes to their roster. As members of the basketball community should be aware, the Bulls were once considered a championship dynasty back during the era of Michael Jordan and managed to win 6 NBA championships in the form of two three-peats.
In the several decades that have passed since then, the Bulls have been unable to win another championship or even make the NBA Finals. This is despite the fact that they have acquired and moved on from several talented young stars over the years.
Things have not gone too well for the Bulls to start the 2023-2024 NBA season. As a result, reports have emerged indicating that the Buylls are prepared to make some big changes. That said, fans might want to take a closer look at the situation.
When was the last time the Chicago Bulls made it to the conference finals?
It looks like the Chicago Bulls no longer believe they can contend for an NBA title around their franchise star in Zach LaVine. DeMar DeRozan has also been involved in several trade discussions alongside LaVine over the past few seasons. Moreover, reports reveal that the Bulls are on the lookout for “win now” players.

The Chicago Bulls are looking for win-now players on the trade market, per @mikeascotto

That certainly seems to imply that they do not have such players on their roster at the moment. Perhaps the Bulls management has good reason to feel frustrated over their current state of affairs. Despite bringing in DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, and several other starts onto their roster, they have little to no success to show for it.
The last time that the Bulls were able to even make the Eastern Conference Finals was more than a decade ago. Veteran fans will remember that Chicago defeated the Indiana Pacers in the first round and the Atlanta Hawks in the second round to make the ECF. However, they ended up losing to LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
