Angel Reese has had one hell of a year with the LSU Tigers. If we’re being honest, LSU has been one of the most famous sports teams this year, after winning the NCAA titles across multiple sports. For women’s basketball, Reese was the heart of the team, along with Alexis Morris. These two were vital for the LSU Tigers to lift the NCAA title, after beating the Iowa Hawkeyes in March.

The Hawkeyes weren’t any bad, either. Caitlin Clark led the team to the final, but could not manage to complete the journey against Kim Mulkey’s side. Despite putting up 30 points in the final against LSU, Clark couldn’t bring home the trophy.
Concerning their achievements this year, both Reese and Clark were nominated Best Breakthrough Athlete award at the 2023 ESPYs.

During the NCAA women’s basketball final, Reese did a gesture that caught the attention of the entire world at the time. In the 4th quarter, despite being up by a significant margin, Reese chose to do the ‘ring celebration,’ where she pointed to her ring finger and indicated that she will be winning the NCAA championship ring.

She didn’t stop there, she also proceed to do the infamous ‘You Can’t See Me’ celebration. The LSU player was criticized heavily for this, as some labeled her as classless and mentioned that she didn’t display sportsmanship.

After winning the 2023 ESPY Award for Best Breakthrough Athlete, Reese did the same celebration. Along with that, she said, “I wanna thank my family, my mom, putting me and my brother through college. And I’m going to graduate this year. I just wanna thank LSU, my family, my teammates…. Another natty is coming, period.”
As Reese said, LSU surely has all the talent they need to win the NCAA championship once again. It has to be mentioned that Mulkey is their head coach. She does have a reputation for being ruthless, but she has made a name for herself as a winner in the college basketball scene.
Moreover, the Tigers have also been graced by the arrival of Hailey Van Lith. The former Louisville Cardinals star transferred to Louisiana this year, and this will undoubtedly put LSU up there with the best rosters of the year.
