Israel Adesanya is arguably the greatest middleweight athlete in the UFC. With his latest victory against his age-long foe, Alex Pereira, the Nigerian-born superstar, proved to the world that he is the absolute best in the business. Earning a reputation among the likes of Jon Jones and Anderson Silva, “Izzy” has now solidified himself as a true warrior among MMA fighters.
After dropping Alex Pereira with two hooks, Israel Adesanya had everybody on their feet praising the middleweight for doing exactly what he said he would. Izzy sprawled around the ring hyping himself up and even taunted Pereira by mimicking the action of shooting a bow and arrow. This was a jab taken at Alex’s entrance, which signifies activities of his culture.
Adesanya also briefly relived a moment from the past. He casually walked to the corner of the octagon pointing at someone and dropped to the floor as though he was knocked out. Izzy might have done it in front of Pereira’s son, who once made fun of the champion when his father knocked him out years ago in a kickboxing bout.
Israel Adesanya celebrates UFC 287 win over Alex Perreira with a Michael Jordan quote
Israel Adesanya was a complete savage in the octagon yesterday. After winning the middleweight title the first time around, Izzy was criticized for his lackluster fights. However, even though he did not dominate as much as a champion, he still won those fights while playing smart. Adesanya is now back on top and may remain the champion for a long time.

Israel also reacted to his taunts to the former champion’s son and took a quote from “The Last Dance” documentary. He tweeted saying, “‘…and I took that personally,’ – Michael Jordan.” It seems as if Adesanya is still hyped about what had happened and he has all the right to feel this way. Izzy even clapped back at the ones who underestimated his strategies.
Even though Adesanya has a bitter history against Alex, he still praised the former champ. He said, “I did the hard yard and I earned my f**king rematch. Now he has to do the hard yard and earn it, but I don’t think he’s going to. Go cause problems at 205. He’s a motherf***er to deal with, I’ll tell you that.” Izzy also believes that the battle between him and his rival is now over. During their previous bouts, Adesanya was better on paper until Alex knocked him out. But this time, Izzy earned his redemption.
