Trae Young might just leave the Atlanta Hawks and play alongside Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. This would truly be a league-changing move that would turn the Mavs into a serious threat and contender.
While the Hawks certainly need Trae Young. According to reports, his situation and collaboration with the team have been deteriorating for a while now. Considering that we are in an era of player empowerment, it is certainly possible for this trade to go down. Moreover, the Hawks point guard has already shown his hand regarding a preferential destination if he is traded.
Will Trae Young leave Atlanta Hawks and join Dallas Mavericks?
It is far from a guarantee that Young will be traded. However, there is no denying that he is in an uncomfortable situation with his team. Some of us might remember an incident that occurred a few weeks ago. Trae got into an argument with the Hawks coach.
“He doesn’t like the coach, the coach doesn’t like him, and other players have issues with Trae also.”

It was simply a matter of choosing between practice and rehabilitation. However, things got so tense that Trae did not end up playing for the Hawks that game against Denver. Or even show up to the arena. To make matters grimmer, his team is not doing very well at the moment. They hold a record of 17 wins and 18 losses, giving them the 9th seed.
If the Hawks end up trading Young, according to Jake Madison from Locked Out Pelicans and other oddsmakers, he has his sights set on playing alongside Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. Some of the other teams he has also shown interest in include the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, and Denver Nuggets.

Young has already shown admiration for Luka’s playstyle and they seem to be on relatively good terms. If this trade does happen, it would truly be a unique situation where players from the same draft class, who were actually traded by their franchises, now playing on a single team.
