Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green said he’s not planning on playing in the 2022 NBA All-Star Game. Green confirmed his unavailability on TNT’s Inside NBA. The 2016 Defensive player will miss the game to continue to rehab from a disc injury.

The 31-year-old is averaging 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists with 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks. Green was selected for his fourth All-star game appearance in his illustrious 12-year career that includes three All-NBA and six NBA All-Defensive selections.
Possible Defensive player of the year?
Draymond Green was on pace to win his second Defensive Player of the year award before suffering a back injury. Green has missed the last 13 games for the Warriors. The three-time NBA champion was leading the defensive player race until December as the Dubs were ranked first in defensive rating (102.2) and second in net rating (9.1).
Consequently, they were ninth with an offensive rating of 111.4. But, since his absence, their defensive rating dropped to 104.8, Net rating to 0.7 and offensive to 105.5. Golden State also had a record of four wins and five losses without Draymond Green. This dip in numbers also speaks volumes about Green’s overall impact on both ends for his team.
Who will replace Draymond Green?
Draymond Green’s injury opens up a reserve spot in the 2022 NBA All-star game in Ohio. Green expressed that Dejounte Murray should be his replacement for the game as he is having a great season while coming back from an ACL injury.
Green said, “I actually expected their record to be even worse” while talking about the San Antonio Spurs and credited Murray as their silver-lining in a tumultuous season.

Dejounte Murray is one of the biggest snubs in this year’s All-star game. He is putting up 19.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 9.1 assists while leading the league in steals 2.0 steals per game. Hence his selection as a replacement would be a no-brainer. Similarly, other players like Jaren Jackson Junior, Anthony Edwards or Mikal Bridges could be the replacement for the Dub Nation forward.
