Despite being a prideful man himself, Shaquille O’Neal has held his son Myles O’Neal to high standards. As we all know, Shaq is an NBA legend and has made a name for himself on the court. Although his other sons such as Shareef and Shaqir have shown interest in basketball, Myles has decided to try his hand at other ventures such as acting.
While his surname would certainly open up doors for Myles, it does not necessarily mean he would be able to find success as an actor. However, when asked about it on The Big Podcast with Shaq, O’Neal showed a remarkable amount of faith in the abilities of his son. Since Shaq wouldn’t make statements without any basis, fans should certainly want to know what he had to say about Myles’ endeavors.
Shaquille O’Neal claims that Myles O’Neal is near perfect
Perhaps Shaq went a bit too far with his statements. After all, it is quite bold to proclaim that one’s son is near perfect and has no flaws. However, that wouldn’t change the fact that Myles is a very talented young man. He has already tried out acting in multiple reality shows such as The Hills: New Beginnings, Basketball Wives, Shaq Life, and Shaunie’s Home Court.
O’Neal didn’t even know that Myles had landed another role in Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules and was informed about the same on his own podcast. Despite being taken aback at not being informed, the 4x NBA champion shared that he was still reassured in his son’s abilities and had no reason to worry or fret about anything.
Myles is the cunning smart one, he’s the type that. Like I said, ‘Go to school, stay out of trouble, you can do everything you want.’ So I don’t mess with him because he’s damn near the perfect kid.”
Shaq could have stopped there but felt the need to reiterate that his son was also equally capable of handling “the business”. This is an impressive proclamation from someone with a $400 million business empire.
“So if he wants to do a reality show, learn about the business, have a good time, there’s nothing I can do. He’s been around the business long enough to know what he’s doing. So I wish he would have told me, so I don’t have to hear it here first. No, I didn’t know.”
Although Myles should have probably informed his father about his recent deal, there was no real reason for him to have done so. Especially since he is pursuing a career outside the world of basketball.
