Josh Hart has had a very interesting year and NBA season to say the least. First, he was traded at the trade deadline to the New York Knicks from the Portland Trailblazers. Then his Knicks team made the playoffs and even were able to take down and almost sweep the favorite Cleveland Cavaliers, thanks to the play of Jalen Brunson and Hart’s two-way contribution. Finally, he had to witness the birth of his twin boys through a Zoom call with his wife.

Hart met his wife Shannon Philips in the tenth grade at Sidwell Friends High School. The two became friends quickly and have been inseparable, since getting engaged on December 26th, 2020. They were married in August 2021, at South Beach Miami. To this day Philips remains Hart’s biggest supporter, regularly retweeting her husband’s highlights on the court as shown above.
Josh Hart raises eyebrows with his latest tweet
Josh Hart recently became a new father to twin boys on 12th May 2023. Hart was in Miami getting ready for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals when he was notified that his wife Shannon was going into labor. Hart immediately contacted the team and had a private plane arranged for his departure along with helicopters on standby and even a police escort, courtesy of Knicks superfan Al Palagonia.
Unfortunately, he was notified by the doctor that there was no use in him rushing back to New York as he wouldn’t make it in time for the birth. Therefore, the organization was able to set up a Zoom meeting in which Hart was able to be with his wife during the delivery albeit remotely. The minute the final buzzer for Game 6 rang, Hart was rushed onto a plane back to NY to see his newborn twin sons for the first time.
Since then Hart seems to be enjoying his newfound fatherhood. With a series of laughable tweets such as “Have yall ever tasted yall significant others’ breast milk? Asking for a friend”, Hart has fans and NBA players alike in stitches, with stars such as teammate Jalen Brunson, CJ McCollum, and De’Aaron Fox regularly engaging in replies.

To be fair, we have seen and heard far worse said on Twitter by NBA players, so Hart’s obvious enjoyment and enthusiasm at being a new father is a welcome change to the Twitter landscape.
There is a long career ahead of the twenty-eight-year-old, one we’re sure he can’t wait to spend alongside his sons. Hart has been an instrumental piece in the Knicks’ machine this season since the trade, providing valuable rebounding and general hustle to a team that was lacking, well heart. So Josh Hart may truly be the heart of New York.
