Dwight Howard has been quite an interesting figure in the world of sports. But his talent often speaks for itself as the ex-NBA star won laurels during his tenure in the league. As a player, Dwight had everything it took to be recognized as one of the best of his time. He dominated the court during the early 2000s and 2010s while sharing it with several league legends.
Howard was selected No.1 overall by the Orlando Magic back in 2004. He quickly made a mark on the league while being a potential MVP candidate. He became an 8x NBA All-Star, 3x Defensive Player of the Year, 5x rebounding leader, and 2x block league with multiple All-NBA selections as well. In 2022, he commenced his professional journey overseas contributing his skills to the Taiwanese T1 League.
Despite having a brief decline in the NBA, he went on to become an instant hit in Taiwan. He was dubbed as the league’s Most Valuable Import in 2023. As successful as his career in the sport has been, his off-court life has been quite controversial. Howard has faced a few assault and domestic violence accusations all while having his name dragged into the dirt for his alleged relationships.
Dwight Howard had children with five different partners
Besides the controversies that have trampled over his personal life, Dwight Howard has faced a few ups and downs. When it comes to family, the two-time Team USA gold medalist has five children. All of his children come from different partners. The names of his children are Braylon, Jayde, Layla, David, and Trey (or Dwight III). Howard had a few legal struggles with Braylon’s mother, Royce Reed.
Braylon is his oldest offspring whom he shares with Reed, who is popularly known as a former Magic cheerleader and actor. Reed and Howard were tangled up in legal drama after the ex-actor disparaged him on social media and her reality television show.
Howard won the battle but Royce later accused him of physically abusing Braylon. The athlete accepted the accusations claiming he did it to discipline Braylon. He was not charged over this matter. His second child, Layla, was conceived while he was connected to Tiffany Render. Two months after Layla’s birth, Jayde, his third child was conceived by Hope Alexa. She is known to be a fitness model.
Trey, his fourth child was welcomed three years later while Howard was involved with Christine Vest in 2013. In the same year, Howard welcomed his fifth child, David, whose mother was Melissa Rios. Unfortunately, Melissa lost her life due to an epileptic seizure in 2020. His children are all fairly young and there isn’t much information available on what they do.
