Dwight Howard had been a longtime NBA player until the 6’10 basketball star decided to take his talents abroad. He has appeared in eight NBA All-Star Games, earned three Defensive Player of the Year awards, and helped the Los Angeles Lakers win the 2020 NBA Championship.
When the 2022–23 NBA season began, he had not been signed by any team, and soon after, he decided to sign with the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan. Even at 37 years old, Howard is still hoping to return to the NBA. A rigid deal may not be on the table right now, but it may come shortly, depending on the circumstances.

With the Taoyuan Leopards, the talented big man averaged 23 points, 16 rebounds, and five assists per game last season. His season in Taiwan had some amazing moments, most notably a season debut of 38 points, 25 rebounds, nine rebounds, and nine assists. Despite his best efforts, the Leopards finished last in the league, and Howard lost time due to injuries.
In the 2004 NBA Draft, he was the first overall choice out of Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. He has averaged 15.7 points and 11.8 rebounds in his NBA career. His most recent NBA season was with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021–22, when he averaged 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds.
Will Dwight Howard sign for the Golden State Warriors?
Dwight Howard could make his comeback in the NBA soon. After recent reports of his conversation with the Golden State Warriors, fans were in a dilemma about whether they’d see the former laker in the NBA. But as fast as his comeback rumors came to light, they went down too, as the warriors cleared their stance recently.
Dwight Howard’s potential signing with the Golden State Warriors has been halted due to the team’s decision not to sign him before training camp, as per Warriors president Mike Dunleavy. While the door is not completely closed on Howard joining the Warriors, there will be no deal before camp.

The Warriors currently have 13 players but may fill the 14th spot with a big man to alleviate the regular-season burden on Kevon Looney and Draymond Green. They maintain flexibility to add an extra player in trades or buyouts. Considering the latest controversies that surround Howard, it is more difficult for him to make a comeback in his former league anytime soon.
