Mark Cuban once let his emotions get the better of him during an episode of Shark Tank. As some fans might be aware, not only is Cuban the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, but he is also one of the sharks on Shark Tank, a popular TV show focusing on entrepreneurs explaining their products with the hope of getting an investment in return from one of the Sharks.
However, Cuban didn’t even let things get to the stage of questioning when a new product was introduced and ruthlessly rejected it, regardless of its validity as a business proposal. This might seem peculiar to fans and we should certainly take a closer look and what happened and find out more.
What Shark Tank product did Mark Cuban reject?
As already mentioned, Mark Cuban is often seen on national TV via Shark Tank. In fact, one could argue that he is one of the best Sharks on the show and has made solid investments. However, when approached by two brothers seeking investment for their product, he had no problem instantly declaring himself out.
The product is called Ride Fresh and was advertised as a new and cool way to freshen up the smells inside a car. Although they might have secured an investment from Cuban, Trey and Don Brown made a joke during their presentation which ended up rubbing Mark the wrong way.
“We have amazing scents like Woodgrain, Eucalyptus and even your favorite basketball teams…This one? smells like winning. Sorry, Mark.”
That was as far as they got before Cuban interjected angrily and declared himself out of the deal. He was clearly triggered by the joke and claimed that they should be proficient enough to “read the room. He even called it the “Dumbest Marketing move ever”
To those who are confused, the air fresher that they displayed had a Golden State Warriors logo on it. NBA fans will remember that GSW won the championship in 2022. Not only that, they also eliminated Cuban’s Mavericks in order to do so.
Hence Mark was clearly salty about the loss and took it out on the entrepreneurs. Although he was chastised by the other Sharks for his short Temper, Cuban remained adamant and steadfast to his stance that they should have known better than to use a joke like that if they were looking to secure an investment from him.
