If there is one thing athletes usually do, they always pay homage to their idols in various ways. Either they wear the same jersey number, incorporate techniques into their game, or simply wear apparel that best represents them. Clark is a big fan of Kobe Bryant’s signature Nike shoe line. The NCAA superstar is often seen wearing the iconic Kobe 6 Protro “Grinches”, shoes with snakeskin patterns on them. The Grinches are typically neon green in color. However, she also wears a fairly recent release of the Grinches called “Reverse Grinches”. These shoes are red but with neon green shoelaces. Clark has lived through a couple of iconic moments while wearing these kicks.
Caitlin Clark turned heads while sporting a rare Kobe Proto 5 sneaker
The 2023 NCAA March Madness was one of Caitlin Clark’s best runs as a college athlete. She led the Hawkeyes through the entire playoffs averaging 27.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game. In the end, the Hawkeyes were challenged by the LSU Tigers led by Angel Reese. Unfortunately, despite having outstanding performances, the Hawkeyes weren’t crowned champions.
But during a stretch of games in March Madness, Clark turned a couple of heads around by wearing an extremely rare colorway of the Kobe 5 Protros. The “Bruce Lee” colorway was what she wore while she led the Hawkeyes. These retro shoes are a rare find that Bryant first introduced during the Los Angeles Lakers 2010 NBA Finals run.

The Bruce Lees was re-released in November 2020 but in minimal stock for around $180 a pair. But it is worth triple the amount these days for how rare these shoes have become. Caitlin Clark embodies a lot of Kobe-like characteristics in her game. The world of basketball will be blessed to have her play on the main stage very soon.
