Former World 1 Naomi Osaka has been suffering from injury issues, primarily her Achilles heel and her mental health issues have also contributed to her major dip in form. She recently had to withdraw from the Wimbledon after suffering from an extreme case of Achilles heel.
The Achilles heel issue added on to the fact that the Wimbledon does not carry any ranking points after the WTA decided to scrap them off in retaliation for banning the Wimbledon organisers.
Naomi has previously spoken about how her mental health issues have become too overwhelming for her to handle and she could consider retirement. Her best result of this year came in the Miami Open, in which she reached the finals.
Adding the mental health issues to her injuries could be too much for Naomi to handle and hence she could surely be considering retirement at this point in time. A lot of the fans have been left puzzled after she recently tweeted explaining her absence from the upcoming tournament.
Will Naomi Osaka retire soon?
Ever since Naomi Osaka made a cryptic tweet about her absence from the Wimbledon, speculations were rift about her potential retirement. Her tweet read,
“My Achilles tendon is still not well, so see you next time. After the storm, it’s clear. This is a way of saying that I’m trying to learn concretely. I feel like life. keep shuffling the cards and you’ll never get used to them, but it’s the way you adapt to awkward situations that reveals your character.”
“Every day, before I go to sleep, I think about all the people I love and how grateful I am to have them in my life. I wish them all the best and I hope my existence brings them the same joy.”

After this was tweeted, there was only one question in the mind of the fans, will Osaka ever be back on the court. By reading the tweet it can easily be understood that Naomi Osaka seems a bit dejected and demotivated with the prospect of playing tennis.
It is time for her to consider her retirement from tennis. This is the second consecutive year in which Naomi will not be taking part in the Wimbledon.
Before the Achilles Heel issue popped out she had criticised the decision of the WTA to not hand ranking points to the players and had also considered way back then to back out from the tournament as a result of this decision.
It surely makes sense for Naomi to back out considering the fact that she has always been injury-prone.
