Khabib Nurmagomedov has scaled the heights of mixed martial arts and is widely regarded as the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. Needless to say, success has brought in wealth and the undisputed lightweight champion knows how to use it.
He has a sharp sense of business while also being part of a sport that has become his life. Nurmagomedov launched Eagle Fighting Championship and was fresh off a conclusion of an event in Moscow when he interacted with the media.

Khabib was asked whether Eagle Fighting Championship has any deal with UFC President Dana White. Nurmagomedov has this to say.
“We don’t have any deal on that but I know that Dana White has been following our league. And from my perspective, we have at least two fighters ready for the UFC.”
“It’s Rizvan Kuniev, I am sure he can be competitive against the world’s best heavyweight, top-15 at least. Also Mehdi Dakaev, I think he is a world-class fighter.”

Rizvan Kuniev is a 27-year old fighter from Russia who boasts a record of 10-2 in his MMA career. He competes out of Russia and is currently on an eight-fight win-streak. He competes in the heavyweight division. On the other side, Mehdi Dakaev is a lightweight contender competing out of Russia. He boasts a credible record of 12-2 and is just 25-years old.

Eagle Fighting Champion is a league of fighters competing predominantly from Russia and around the world in a mixed martial arts league. The founder is none other than the undisputed lightweight champion of the world Khabib Nurmagomedov, who announced Eagle FC early last year.

Khabib Nurmagomedov announced his retirement late last year at UFC 254. In the post-fight Octagon interview, Nurmagomedov broke into tears after he submitted Justin Gaethje to defend the UFC lightweight championship. However, the Dagestani fighter still hasn’t vacated the title and his official confirmation of retirement remains a very discussed topic in the world of mixed martial arts.

UFC President Dana White has stated that he is going to meet Khabib Nurmagomedov at the end of February to discuss the future. For the time being, UFC fight fans will have to wait and find out.
