Dillon Danis is looking forward to his big career fight against Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition match. The professional grappler would not be able to use his predominant skill during the fight. Dillon is truly a master of the sport and has gained enough recognition. This led him to become former UFC lightweight champion Conor Mcgregor’s grappling partner.
Dillon Danis and Gordon Ryan first met at the ADCC World Championship back in 2017, where Ryan made his debut fight against Danis. It was in this event that Ryan went on to earn the name ‘The King’, after defeating Danis. Even though Ryan narrowly won the match, this proved to be one of Dillon’s last grappling matches before venturing into MMA and singing up with Bellator.

Dillon has a BJJ record of 18 wins and 16 losses and has earned a name for himself in the sport. Gordon Ryan has taken a momentary retirement from the sport after a 49-win streak, he currently holds a record of 93-5-3. UFC’s heavyweight champion, Jon Jones was recently spotted training along with Ryan, for his fight against Stipe Miocic.
Is Dillon Danis going to face Gordon Ryan again?
The numbers speak for themselves, and here we can clearly see that Gordon Ryan has the potential. Although Ryan has moved on ever since his win, Dillon Danis does not seem to get over the loss. In their previous match, both fighters were struggling to score points. It wasn’t until the last five minutes that the 28-year-old managed to hold Danis down for three seconds, which might have been the winning move.
In fact, during his recent interview on a podcast, Dillon Danis was determined to get a rematch. Saying that this rematch might be the “biggest Jiu-Jitsu event in the world” and “would be doing it for the love of the sport and not to give him fame“. This sounds ironic, as Gordon Ryan is considered the greatest no-GI grappler of all time in Jiu-Jitsu, while Dillon has to fight YouTubers to make money.
But Gordon Ryan’s irregularity following his recent health concerns has held him back. Ryan is more than willing to participate in the rematch against Dillon Danis to settle their indifference. And this rematch might be Dillon’s next fight after his boxing exhibition.
