Scottish tennis star Andy Murray is one of the veterans of the sport. He has been a champion on and off the court and has good relationships with his peers. While Murray is known for his resilience, he does possess a sense of humor, which makes pulling pranks on him so hilarious. That is exactly what Frances Tiafoe did, and Andy finally opened up about it months after the incident.
The former world number one made a wonderful return to tennis months after his hip replacement surgery. It was not an easy journey for Andy, but it was a testament to his strength of character. Despite experiencing such lows, Murray did not lose his humor. However, he was caught off guard by a cheeky Tiafoe during an interview at the US Open.
Murray was talking to Tennis TV when Tiafoe came up behind him and stood silently. The American star’s face was hovering close to Murray, but the latter still did not feel Frances’ presence.

Tiafoe stood like that for nearly 30 minutes, till he passed a remark in Murray’s ear. Andy’s reaction was hilarious, as even the interviewer was left in stitches.
This clip started doing the rounds on social media recently, and it caught Murray’s eye. The three-time Grand Slam champion finally answered why he might have overlooked Frances. “I was wondering about halfway through my answer why it smelled so bad,” commented Andy under the post.
Tiafoe is well-known for his antics, and Andy Murray was his unsuspecting victim at that time. The American made it to the quarterfinals, while Murray crashed out in the second round. With the new season approaching, Andy is already preparing for the first Grand Slam next year.
