Joe Rogan had quite an interesting suggestion when the current predicament of popular Hollywood actor Bruce Willis was discussed on his podcast. As we all know, Rogan has made a name for himself in the sports community as a commentator, podcaster, and former television show presenter.
Willis is also a name that many avid movie fans across the world would be aware of. After all, he has acted in a popular movie franchise called Die Hard and has played several other roles in his acting career. It devastated his fans when news broke out that Bruce Willis was suffering from a unique type of dementia. Let us take a closer look at what is going on and how Rogan reacted to all of this.
Does Bruce Willis remember his daughter?
Fans of the Die Hard actor will be aware that he has a 29-year-old daughter called Tallulah Willis. She revealed she was one of the first people to realize that something was wrong with her father,
“I’ve known that something was wrong for a long time. It started out with a kind of vague unresponsiveness, which the family chalked up to Hollywood hearing loss…Later that unresponsiveness broadened, and I sometimes took it personally.”
One can only imagine what the family went through in the initial stages, not knowing what was wrong with Bruce. They were able to find out that he is suffering from Frontotemporal Dementia. Those who are already aware of Dementia will know that it slowly takes away the memories of a person. However, in this case, it would also mean the loss of emotions and cognitive functioning. Hence the unresponsiveness that frustrated Tallulah.
Upon hearing about this Joe Rogan instantly responded that he would try taking mushrooms if he were Bruce, “God! What causes that you know?… I would try mushrooms cuz you know the neurodegenerative process of like any kind of a disease like that. When you talk about…What is that thing that Mushrooms can do…they apparently can help to grow neurons, which is very unusual…something about it.”
To the more innocent readers, Rogan is referring to Magic Mushrooms, a type of natural psychedelic substance that could potentially change one’s neural pathways. Since Frontotemporal Dementia is incurable at the moment, Rogan seems to think that only something outside the box could remedy the situation.
