Andre the Giant was a popular name in the world of professional wrestling. He was well known as the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’. Throughout his career, Andre wrestled for various pro wrestling promotions such as WWF/WWE and NJPW.

Vince McMahon’s friendship with Andre the Giant
Andre the Giant was pushed as a top superstar by Vince McMahon Sr. Following that, Vince McMahon Jr. also continued to give him a push. With that, they developed a very close bond and eventually became great friends.
However, Vince and Andre had a fallout in 1992, which led to the end of their friendship. What happened is that, after Andre became a part of WWE, he was restricted from making appearances in any other wrestling promotions. Meanwhile, in 1992, André made an appearance in WCW. This soured their friendship.
A year after that in 1993, the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ passed away at the age of 46, due to congestive heart failure. Meanwhile, it seems McMahon regretted falling out with the Giant. Previously, WWE legend Bruce Prichard revealed that after the death of Andre, Vince regretted not making up with his friend.
Prichard mentioned that Vince was quite affected by Andre’s sudden demise. He added that McMahon thought of Andre as one of his closest friends and hated the fallout their friendship suffered. Bruce further added, “I think there was a little bit of regret that hadn’t been completely rectified and he didn’t have the opportunity to say goodbye to his friend.”
Thus, it seems that since Vince McMahon and Andre the Giant were very close friends, the latter’s death had hit McMahon hard. With that, fans will look forward to more updates on the friendship between the two giant personalities.
