Cristiano Ronaldo failed to register even a minute in the thrashing in the Manchester derby. According to the Telegraph, Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag will not stop Ronaldo from leaving the club come January. If the Portuguese finds a club through Jorge Mendes, the club will not stand in his way.
Ronaldo has played only 80 minutes so far this season and failed to score or assist in the Premier League. He was also a frustrated figure on the bench in the 6-3 thrashing in the Manchester derby.
Pros and cons of Ronaldo leaving
Many believe that Ronaldo signing in the first place was for commercial reasons. The Glazers are well known for using Manchester United as nothing more than a money-making entity. Ronaldo’s transfer fees was recuperated in the sales of his jerseys on the first day itself. Ronaldo leaving for the Glazers could mean a huge loss of revenue.
For footballing reasons, Ronaldo leaving would mean a lack of goals. Having scored 18 goals in a struggling side only last season, it seems bizarre that fitness is an issue with the striker. If Rashford and Martial get injured or are out of form, having nobody else to fill those positions also seems unplanned.
Martial is injury prone, Rashford isn’t a striker, United have leaked they have no money in January, and we’ve just been destroyed in the Derby. What a ridiculous time to put it out there that Ronaldo can leave in January. This club

There seems to be much more going on behind the scenes, and if Ronaldo is to make a comeback, it needs to be quick.
There are some advantages to Ronaldo’s departure from the club. If he is to leave, a huge chunk of the wage bill will be cut off. Many are also of the opinion that Ronaldo does not fit into Erik ten Hag’s footballing philosophy.
His departure may also mean that players like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial will get regular playtime. They would also be able to perform freely, without having the pressure of Ronaldo sitting on the bench.
Clubs interested in Cristiano Ronaldo
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has said that there seems to be no interest in any player on the market as of now. The clubs are solely focused on the ongoing season. Any planning for the January transfer window will occur during the World Cup.
Amidst all this, if a player like Cristiano Ronaldo is available, whether clubs have started planning or not, they will certainly keep tabs on the player. During the summer, many clubs like Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon, and Atletico Madrid were interested.
Roy Keane and a few other people said Cristiano Ronaldo had 4 or 5 offers.
Some reliable sources also said he did have offers but Manchester United & Glazers didn’t let him go.
But we’re supposed to believe random twitter users that “no one wanted Ronaldo.” 😂 pic.twitter.com/Mcl64PL2CV

Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly was heavily invested in getting the Portuguese to Stamford Bridge this summer. Unfortunately, Thomas Tuchel was opposed to this and the opportunity went amiss. Following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel and United agreeing to let Ronaldo leave, there could be a scenario in which the American does go all in for his signature.

Ex-players are also of the opinion that Ronaldo should leave the club. Roy Keane even mentioned that he knew for a fact that a club wanted him in the summer. He seems to be at the forefront of the criticism of the club’s management of the Cristiano Ronaldo situation.
As always, January will be a very important month in the Portuguese’s future.
