Islam Makhachev trolls Conor McGregor in a response to the former dual champion’s tweet following Charles Oliveira’s emphatic win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 269. Islam Makhchev, who is scheduled to take on Beneil Dariush in February next year at UFC Fight Night 203, has called out McGregor in the past for a fight. Earlier, McGregor had taken to Twitter to call out Charles Oliveira for a fight in Brazil. He quoted the match-up as Ireland vs Brazil 2, reminding fans of his emphatic win over Jose Aldo.
Your fight is on February 30 https://t.co/eFcfv3mHJg

Charles Oliveira sent out the following words for McGregor, clearly expressing his interest in facing the Notorious.
What do you think about this weekend?
I’m ready, I’m still in town, and there’s an up&coming event. Let’s go baby https://t.co/BDbI6SzewF pic.twitter.com/yh51OmPLX4

Who will fight Charles Oliveira next? – Conor McGregor is not next
While it’s one thing to say that Conor McGregor can do whatever he wants, owing to his immense popularity in the world of mixed martial arts, the UFC’s lightweight rankings say otherwise. As things stand right now, Charles Oliveira is set to face Justin Gaethje in his second title defense sometime next year. Gaethje is coming off an incredible unanimous decision win over Michael Chandler, with his last loss coming against the former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Meanwhile, Islam Makhachev will also look to seal a title shot next with a win over Beneil Dariush. However, it will be easier said than done. Both Dariush and Makhachev are extremely dominant grapplers, making it a stylistic match-up for both the fighters.

As for Conor McGregor, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for the former two-division champion who is currently riding on a two-fight losing skid. McGregor has now won a single bout in the UFC’s lightweight division ever since his championship win over Eddie Alvarez. McGregor has lost his last three bouts, losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov, and then dropping back-to-back losses against Dustin Poirier.
