‘There Is Still a Race to Win’ – Sebastian Vettel kicked off his social media journey with a rather sound statement, and his Instagram journey has been quite unique and immensely purposeful for his millions of followers. The four-time world champion has engrossed the fans with his storytelling, narrating his path to glory from the very root of his motorsport career.
And over the months, Vettel never really found the necessity to follow any profiles on Instagram. The ex-Red Bull star probably questioned the purpose of diving into others’ social lives, and hence, never really showed keenness in tapping on the ‘follow’ button through his public account. However, strangely enough, there was something different about Vettel’s profile on Wednesday.
Yes, Vettel now follows someone on Instagram! For the first time since his arrival on Instagram, Vettel has followed a profile. And the special person has turned out to be none other than his former championship rival and close friend, Lewis Hamilton. Despite engaging in bitter debacles on the track, Vettel and Hamilton always maintained an extremely healthy relationship off-track.
Lewis better follow him back 😆 pic.twitter.com/iVj4a8ZHww

What’s more, Vettel remains the first-ever driver to support Hamilton through his immense fight against racism during the early 2020s.
The unbreakable friendship between Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel
Not just on the track, both Vettel and Hamilton have often engaged in battles of their own and interestingly enough, the pair stood for each other through thick and thin. Such has been the friendship between the two world champions. To further prove their unbreakable bond, here’s the emotional message Hamilton had for Vettel when the latter announced his retirement last year.
“In general I think, building [relationships] with a lot of the drivers, there’s a different relationship I feel I have. It’s growing with them, some less than others, but one I’m really, really grateful for is Seb,” Hamilton said according to Crash.Net. “He’s one of the only drivers that stands for something.
“What other driver here has really, truly stood for something other than themselves? That’s something to really be admired in a human being. He will be missed on the track. I think he’s probably one of the few drivers that I will always… in 20 or 30 years time, we’ll still be friends.”
Overall, now that Hamilton has made a connection with Vettel on social media as well, will the two world champions join together and launch something promising in their race for a better future?
