Barboza entered UFC in 2012 With a record of 7-0 and since then, he has won eight Fight of the Nights performance.
It is certain that for a fighter who has managed to face greats like Khabib Nurmagomedov, Tony Ferguson, and some of the finest fighters like Justin Gaethje, Dan Hooker, Donald Cerrone is himself a quality fighter.
Even after fighting for more than a decade, he is yet to get a title shot. Edson is now adding new weapons to his arsenal and taking inspiration from fighters like Bisping and Oliveira, who waited for a long time before getting their title shot. The famous Rocky movie series has inspired many to choose combat sport as a career path. So, Edson using its charismatic theme song while entering the octagon isn’t a no-brainer. The song Edson used is the theme song of Rocky II which was released in 1979. The lead role in the movie was played by the great Mike Stallone aka “Sylvester E. Stallone”. Barboza used this energetic song to walk out against Justin Gaethje in 2019 at UFC on ESPN. Though Justin got the win in that fight Barboza’s entrance was still vibrant.
